What are vertical gardens and how are they different from planters?

Vertical gardens, also known as living walls, are structured planting systems mounted on a vertical surface. They use a modular frame, irrigation lines and curated plant species to grow upward instead of outward. Planters, by contrast, are individual containers placed on the ground or on shelves. Vertical gardens are best for transforming bare walls into architectural green features, while planters add greenery to defined zones.

How long do vertical gardens last and what maintenance do they need?

A well-built vertical garden lasts five to ten years with routine care. Maintenance includes weekly watering checks if the irrigation system is automated, monthly inspections for plant health and growth, quarterly pruning, and seasonal plant replacement for species that have completed their cycle. We hand over a written maintenance schedule with every project.

Do you handle both indoor and outdoor projects?

Yes. We design and execute green projects for indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor projects often focus on low-light tolerant species and tighter integration with interior architecture. Outdoor projects factor in sunlight exposure, wind, climate and drainage. The plant palette and structural system are selected based on the specific environment.

How do I get a quote for my space?

Send us your space details through the contact form, including approximate dimensions, indoor or outdoor placement, and any reference images. We typically respond within one to two working days with a proposed approach and next steps.

What is included in your landscaping service?

Our landscaping service covers design, plant selection, hardscape and softscape integration, planter placement, soil preparation, planting, and an initial care plan. For residential and commercial outdoor spaces, we coordinate with the existing architecture so that the final result feels intentional and long-lasting.

How heavy is a vertical garden and can my wall support it?

A typical vertical garden module weighs between 25 and 60 kilograms per square metre when fully irrigated, depending on the system. We assess the wall structure during a site visit and use a steel or aluminium frame anchored into the structural wall to distribute the load safely.

Will the wall behind a vertical garden get damaged?

No. We install a waterproof backing membrane between the wall and the green wall system, so the structural surface stays dry. The irrigation runs in a closed loop with a drip line and a drainage tray at the base.

Can vertical gardens be installed in low-light areas?

Yes. We select shade-tolerant species like pothos, philodendron, monstera, peace lily and ferns for low-light indoor walls. For very dark spaces we can also integrate supplemental grow lights.

How long does a typical landscaping project take?

Small residential landscaping projects take two to four weeks from design approval to handover. Larger commercial projects typically run four to twelve weeks depending on hardscape requirements, plant maturity needed at handover, and site access.

Do you provide maintenance after the project is complete?

Yes. We offer optional monthly, quarterly or six-monthly maintenance contracts. These cover pruning, fertilisation, irrigation checks, plant replacement under wear-and-tear, and seasonal refresh.

Are green projects suitable for offices and cafés?

Yes. Offices, cafés, hotels and retail spaces are common environments for our green projects. We adapt the design to the brand language, lighting conditions and footfall pattern, and we use plant species that tolerate climate-controlled interiors.

Can you make custom planters to match my space?

Yes. We fabricate planters in materials including fibreglass, concrete, steel and timber, in custom sizes, finishes and colours. We can also retrofit existing planters with new internal drainage and a refreshed plant palette.
